More than 100 guests attended the celebration, including The Most Reverend David M. O’Connell, Bishop of the Diocese of Trenton, who blessed the new building, as well as LIFE participants and their family members, St. Francis leadership and board members.
Remarks were made by Alexander J. Hatala, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lourdes Health System and President of Trinity Health New Jersey; Dr. Joseph Youngblood II, Chair of the Board of Trustees of St. Francis Medical Center; and Carl Cangelosi, Chair of the Board of Trustees of LIFE St. Francis.
Vince Costantino, Chief Administrative Officer of St. Francis Medical Center, noted during the program,
“This $7.2M investment follows our commitment to population health as well as our objective to reduce the cost of care in the communities we serve.”
The celebration closed with a butterfly release. Said Cangelosi, “Today represented the culmination of much planning and hard work. It truly is a celebration of LIFE as we make this house a home where staff can continue the good work they do for seniors in the community.”
LIFE St. Francis serves frail seniors, enabling them to receive comprehensive health care while remaining in the comfort of their home and community. At the LIFE Center, seniors receive health care, nutritious meals, and participate in activities with others so they may remain active and social.
LIFE St. Francis is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and provides comprehensive care to residents of Mercer County and portions of Burlington County who are 55 and older and wish to remain living safely and independently in the community but need coordinated services. Services are provided at the LIFE Center, located at 7500 Kevin Johnson Boulevard in Bordentown, and in participant’s homes. LIFE serves all of Mercer County and zip codes in Burlington, Bordentown, Chesterfield/Crosswicks, Florence, Roebling, Browns Mills, Burlington, Columbus, Mt. Holly and Pemberton.
