St. Francis Medical Center Appoints President

Daniel P. Moen brings more than 35 years of executive health system and hospital leadership experience to the organization.

 

TRENTON, NJ—Trinity Health and the Board of Trustees for St. Francis Medical Center have appointed Daniel P. Moen as the hospital’s President. Moen will be responsible for strategic direction, operating performance and management of St. Francis Medical Center.

Moen is a highly seasoned healthcare executive who comes to St. Francis with more than 35 years of health system and hospital leadership experience, particularly within Trinity Health System, the parent of St. Francis Medical Center.

Within Trinity Health, he has served as President and CEO of the Sisters of Providence Health System in Springfield, Massachusetts. Moen was instrumental in the formation of Trinity Health New England, a $1.4 billion regional health ministry, serving as the regional ministry’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Previously, he acted as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. Moen has also consulted with Trinity Health and its Regional Health Ministry leadership on high-priority projects, including regionalizing services and colleague engagement.

Moen's experience also includes more than two decades as the President and CEO of Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts. Most recently, he was the Interim Senior Vice President of Covenant Health where he also served as Interim President of a Covenant member facility, St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, New Hampshire.

Throughout his career, Moen has built cohesive relationships with physicians, and community and hospital leaders, planned and negotiated complex transitions with strategic direction, and consistently delivered results that accelerated growth. A respected leader, Moen is a strong advocate for patient centered, high quality delivery of care and service.

Moen earned his Master in Health Administration from Clark University/University of Massachusetts Medical School, a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Worcester State College, and an Associate in Science degree in Radiologic Technology from Quinsigamond Community College, all in Worcester.

Active in hospital, community and economic development, Moen served as a member of the Board of the Massachusetts Hospital Association from 1996 to 2009, and was its Chair from 2006 to 2007. He is the former vice-chair and board member of the Economic Development Commission of Western Massachusetts and served in numerous board positions with local chambers of commerce and non-profit community organizations.
