St. Francis Medical Center Celebrates Martin Luther King Day

The St. Francis Medical Center Chapel was filled with the sound of young student's voices as the Trenton Catholic Academy choir joined with the community to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King on Thursday, January 16, 2014. The service was officiated by Reverend Archie McBride, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Bordentown and featured Reverend Dr. Keith D. Tillett, Pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church in Ewing.
The Trenton Catholic Academy choir joined in the service and sang several selections for the congregation such as “Jesus is Love,” by Lionel Richie and “We Shall Overcome”.  The choir is directed by Susan King and accompanied by John Shaffer.  The most famous public speech referred to as “I Have a Dream” delivered by Dr. Martin Luther King on August 28, 1963 was read in its entirety by Trenton Catholic Academy students, Ameer Gonzalez and Christy Louis.

“Worship is about word and song and we certainly had both here today!” said Executive Director of Mission and Ministry at St. Francis Medical Center, Russ Hansel.
