The children enjoyed arts and crafts, and face painting after a continental breakfast. Singers from Villa Victoria Academy performed many Christmas carols for the crowd. Making reindeer food was a big hit. But the main event was visiting with Santa Claus! Children got their picture taken with Santa and left with wonderful goodie bags. Santa, portrayed by Brian Bennett, Vice President/GM Lawrence Lexus and Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees represented the North Pole in true fashion.
There were many sponsors that made the event possible for everyone in the community. CareOne Ewing provided coloring books and crayons for the goodie bags. The other supporting sponsors were: Lawrence Lexus, Chris Birkenstamm, Cocco Enterprises, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Clair, the Honorable and Mrs. Anthony Persichilli and Hamilton Continuing Care. We also had many contributors who sponsored children to come to the event.
The Community Fundraising Council plans a variety of events for the community throughout the year such as "A Toast to Your Health" which was held on November 7th this year. This was the first Brunch with Santa. Norma Monaghan, President & CEO of the Foundation commented "The Council wanted to do something for the children in the city of Trenton and we are so pleased to have had such a wonderful turn out."
